After disrupting the maxi-scooter segment in the Indian two-wheeler market, Japanese giant Suzuki has officially launched its most powerful and muscular avatar globally, the Suzuki Burgman 150. Suzuki has named it the “Burgman 15,” which is a boon for riders who have long been expecting a major and powerful upgrade from the Burgman Street 125.
This new member of the Burgman family, which has garnered over 1.1 million customers in India since its launch in 2018, comes with larger wheels, a formidable safety shield, and a commanding road presence.
Look and Design

In terms of appearance, the Suzuki Burgman 150 appears to be a highly aggressive and modern evolution of its smaller sibling (the 125cc model). Its face is sharp and distinctive, with dual-chamber LED headlights featuring a unique hexagonal light housing and bright daytime running lights (DRLs) that brighten the darkness of night like day.
From the side profile, this scooter appears muscular and broad. Its rear end is raised, featuring a sporty and massive muffler-mounted silencer. For a comfortable ride, it features a single-piece stepped seat with a large split grab handle for the pillion rider. However, Suzuki has omitted a flat floorboard, as the Burgman 150 uses a sturdy step-over frame, which provides excellent balance at high speeds.
Engine and Mileage
Suzuki has specifically designed the engine, the heart of this maxi-scooter, to handle both long highway journeys and heavy city traffic. This scooter comes with a 149 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 14.2 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 14.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. A large 8-liter fuel tank is provided for a hassle-free long-distance journey.
This 149 cc engine provides the vehicle with cheetah-like agility as soon as you turn the accelerator. To ensure fuel economy in the city, Suzuki has equipped it with an automatic start-stop function, also known as an idle stop-start system, which shuts down the engine when stopped at a traffic signal and restarts silently when the throttle is pressed.
Hardware and Safety
Along with the increased speed, Suzuki has also incorporated premium and heavy-duty hardware into this maxi-scooter to ensure 100% rider safety. For better road presence and grip, it features large 14-inch, 6-spoke alloy wheels at both ends. Suspension duties include telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, which easily absorb rough terrain. The vehicle’s seat height is 760mm, making it comfortable even for short riders, and its total weight is 145 kg.
For super-safe braking, the Burgman 150 features disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. Furthermore, to prevent this clutch-free, powerful scooter from skidding on turns or wet roads, it comes standard with a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a state-of-the-art traction control system, which is rare in scooters in this segment.
Advanced Features
In terms of technology and convenience, the Suzuki Burgman 150 is no less than a luxury motorcycle. The biggest highlight on its dashboard is the full-color TFT instrument cluster, which instantly connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth for turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, and music control.

For rider convenience, it features a Keyless Go system for keyless starting. Additionally, a lidded glove box is located on the front left, housing an 18-watt USB-C charging port for super-fast charging of your smartphone while traveling. There’s also a spacious boot space under the seat, which can easily accommodate a full-size helmet and other essentials.
Suzuki Burgman 150 India Launch
The biggest question now is whether Suzuki will launch this powerful 150cc maxi-scooter in the Indian market. Although Suzuki India has not yet revealed its official launch timeline, auto experts believe that, considering the growing popularity of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 160 in India, Suzuki may bring it to Indian showrooms soon.
Meanwhile, another big news is coming out that Suzuki is going to add a new update of single-channel ABS to its Burgman Street 125 model in India during the second half of the current year 2026 to make it safer.
