Ultraviolette’s new arrival, Tesseract, is the talk of India’s electric two-wheeler segment. With an astonishing 70,000 bookings, this EV is not only a means of travel but a declaration of power, technology, and futuristic thinking. Take a closer look at what makes it the most sought-after electric scooter of the season.
Launch and Booking Explosion
Ultraviolette Tesseract launched in March 2025 and experienced an overwhelming response from the beginning. The company had originally tagged the base variant (3.5kWh battery) at ₹1.20 lakh to the first 50,000 buyers. But since the booking goal was achieved within the first month, the price was increased to ₹1.45 lakh.
Ultraviolette has reaffirmed that two more variants with bigger 5kWh and 6kWh battery packs are in the works. These premium offerings are slated for a later-than-expected launch this year, with additional specifications and pricing information to be announced later.
Futuristic Features Available
Tesseract isn’t merely another EV; it’s being marketed as a high-tech mobility device. It arrives laden with advanced features such as onboard navigation, wireless charging of the phone, and radar systems on both sides. Riders can also enjoy blind-spot detection mirrors, a smart dashcam, and high-end traction control with two levels.
Safety and performance are prioritized with features such as four-level regenerative braking, dual-channel ABS, and hill-hold assist. Some of these features, though, are likely to be reserved for the highest-spec versions.
Performance Expectations
As per Ultraviolette’s official sources, the Tesseract’s highest speed ranges up to 125 km/h, probably attained by its high-spec variants. Though the base model might provide a slightly modest performance, it still stands as a strong player among the electric scooter space.
Delivery Timeline and Future Plans
Although bookings are currently closed, delivery for the Ultraviolette Tesseract is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Detailed specifications and pricing for the larger battery variants will be disclosed by the end of 2025, keeping anticipation levels high.
A New Era in Indian EV Market
The 70,000 bookings mark is an indication of a change in consumer preferences—from mileage-oriented scooters to ones that offer cutting-edge features and speed. Ultraviolette’s engineering strategy with the Tesseract gives a signal of aggression in the EV space, potentially disturbing the entrenched players such as Ola, Ather, and TVS if it delivers as expected when launched.
