A revolutionary change is about to come on Indian roads! Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has recently made a big announcement, according to which a new toll policy is going to be implemented across the country. This policy will not only eliminate toll plazas, but will also make toll payments completely automatic.

End of the toll plaza, the beginning of the automatic payment
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said during a program on April 14, 2025 that physical toll booths will soon be removed from across the country. Along with this, he also gave information about the new toll policy. Gadkari said, “I will not say much about this right now, but I can definitely say that in the next 15 days the Government of India is going to implement a new toll policy.”
How will tolls be deducted without toll booths
According to a PTI report, Nitin Gadkari said that after the new system is implemented, the toll will be deducted automatically through satellite tracking. The Union Minister said, “The vehicle’s number plate will be identified through satellite, due to which the toll will be deducted automatically. There will be no need for manual toll collection with this new system.”
Better roads than America

The Road Transport Minister also said big things about the country’s road infrastructure. Nitin Gadkari said, “In the next two years, India’s road infrastructure will become better than America’s.” He also told about the Mumbai-Goa Highway that “this highway can be fully ready by June this year.” The construction of the Mumbai-Goa Highway will reduce the travel time between these two places considerably.
Nitin Gadkari’s announcement will bring a big change for Indian roads. The new toll policy will not only eliminate toll plazas, but toll payment will also be completely automated. Along with this, the country’s road infrastructure will also improve, making travel even more convenient.
