If you are also thinking of buying a compact SUV, then there is good news for you, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors are going to launch at least 5 new compact SUVs in the Indian auto market in the next 2-3 years. These new models will not only be better in style and features but will also set new benchmarks in performance and mileage. So let’s know everything about these upcoming compact SUVs!

1. Tata Scarlet

First of all, let us tell you that Tata Motors is working on its new compact SUV, which has been internally codenamed ‘Scarlet’. This will be Tata’s second compact SUV after Nexon, and its design will be boxy and muscular like Sierra. Scarlett will be built on a monocoque chassis and will get petrol, diesel, as well as electric variants.

2. Maruti Y43

Maruti Suzuki is also working on its new compact SUV Y43, which will compete with Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. It will be positioned below the fronts and can be sold through Nexa showrooms. It is being said that Y43 will be the successor of Ignis which will have modern design and great features.

3. Maruti Fronx Hybrid

Maruti’s next car Maruti Fronx facelift is going to come in 2026, in which the company’s first strong hybrid system will be seen. This series hybrid system will consist of 1.2L Z12E petrol engine and electric motor and will give a great mileage of 35+ kmpl.

4. Tata Punch facelift

The facelift of Tata’s best-selling car Tata Punch, is going to be launched in October 2025. It will get a new design similar to Puncha  EV, 2-spoke steering wheel,10.25-inch touchscreen an and all-digital instrument cluster. However, there will be no major change in the mechanics, and it will come with a 1.2L petrol engine only.

5. New-gen Nexon

The new generation of Tata Nexon may arrive in late 2026 or early 2027. It has been codenamed ‘Garuda’ and will be built on an upgraded version of the X1 architecture. It will get radical design updates and a completely new interior. The engine options will include petrol, diesel and CNG variants.
