Mahindra has given a big gift to the Indian car market on this Independence Day! The company introduced four new concept models in Mumbai on 15 August 2025, of which Vision S is the most talked about. This concept is a glimpse of the new avatar of the Scorpio brand in the coming times. So let’s know what features this SUV will bring and why it can prove to be a great option for Indian customers.
Mahindra Vision S
Mahindra insiders say that the Vision S will be a new sub-4 meter SUV in the Scorpio lineup, which will enter the market alongside the existing Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic. This SUV will be built on the company’s new NU_IQ monocoque platform, which will be compatible with ICE (petrol-diesel), EV (electric) and hybrid powertrains. This means that people will get multiple powertrain options in the same model.

Design
Looking at the design of the Vision S concept, it is clear that it will be a completely new-age SUV. It includes some special features. The most interesting thing is that instead of traditional side mirrors, camera units have been provided in it which improve aerodynamics.
- L-shaped inverted DRLs – make it stand out on the road at night.
- Twin Peaks logo – A glimpse of Mahindra’s new branding.
- Pixel-style fog lamps – Not only look good but also offer better visibility.
- Roof-mounted lights and massive 19-inch wheels – highlight its off-road capability.
Interior
- All-digital instrument cluster – which will show all the important information in one place.
- Central touchscreen infotainment system – which will run on Mahindra’s new NU_UX software and support wireless
- smartphone connectivity.
- Dual-pane panoramic sunroof – which will let natural light into the cabin.
- Must-have grab handles – for easy entry-exit for rear passengers.

Engine
The Vision S will be built on the NU_IQ platform, which is Mahindra’s new modular architecture. Its special feature is that it will work with both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) systems. Engine options may include 1.2L turbocharged petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. Also, EV and hybrid versions are expected to come.

Launch and Price
Mahindra can launch the production version of Vision S by 2027. Its price may be slightly higher than the current Scorpio models, as it will be provided with many advanced features. According to experts, its ex-showroom price can be between ₹ 12-15 lakh.
