Launch Date and Availability
The Mahindra Thar ROXX was officially launched on last year , following the tradition of launching the big ones on Independence Day. Bookings commenced in October 2024, whereas, in mid-September, test drives were initiated in select cities across India. This SUV is offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) options. The petrol and diesel engines are available in both manual and automatic variants.
Design and Interiors Upgrades
The most prominent new change in the Thar is the two rear doors that make this change roomier for people to enter and exit easily. The wheelbase has been stretched by 300 mm, thus providing much more cabin and boot space. The SUV gets a new front grille with six vertical slats, LED projector headlamps, C-shaped LED DRLs, and new bumper designs. Inside, the Thar ROXX offers a much more premium cabin with dual-tone interiors, better legroom for rear passengers, and added space for luggage. It also features two 10.25-inch digital displays, the first one for infotainment and the other for the instrument cluster.

The Thar ROXX is available with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine rated at around 177 PS and a 2.2-litre diesel engine with an output of up to 175 PS in automatic variants. Both engine types can be had with manual and automatic gearboxes. RWD versions are available in petrol and diesel but 4WD option is available only on the diesel variants. Prices start from ₹12.99 lakh for the base petrol RWD manual variant and go up to around ₹23.39 lakh for the top-spec diesel 4WD automatic (ex-showroom).
