If you are planning to buy a new 7-seater SUV, it may be wise to wait a little. In the coming months, brands like Tata, Mahindra and Volkswagen will launch new models. These cars will make the competition in this segment more exciting, where SUVs like Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700 and Toyota Fortuner are already popular choices. Let’s take a look at the upcoming 7-seater SUVs that buyers are eagerly waiting for.

Mahindra XEV 7e

Mahindra is preparing to introduce the XEV 7e, which will be its third Born-Electric SUV. This model will come with a 7-seater layout and is expected to be built on the XEV 9e platform. The SUV is likely to carry battery pack options of 59kWh and 79kWh. Compared to its 5-seater version, the design will appear more traditional. Price may be higher by about 2 to 3 lakh rupees. While the company has not announced the launch date yet, the SUV is expected to arrive by the end of 2025.

Volkswagen Tayron

Volkswagen is also readying its entry in this category with the Tayron SUV. This model has been spotted several times during road testing. It is considered the successor to the Tiguan Allspace and may launch around Diwali 2025. The Tayron will feature a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 201bhp power and 320Nm torque. This SUV is likely to focus on strong performance and premium design, making it an attractive option for large families and highway driving.

Tata Safari Petrol

Tata Motors will also expand its SUV line-up by adding a petrol version of the Safari. The launch is expected in November 2025. This model will use a new 1.5-litre turbo GDi petrol engine that generates 165bhp power and 280Nm torque. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. In terms of design and features, the petrol Safari will be similar to the current diesel variant, giving buyers a familiar but more fuel-flexible choice.
