Magnite Kuro Edition vs Regular: Nissan has launched the new Magnite Kuro Edition in India, introducing a dramatic all-black design for customers who want something sportier. Based on the N-Connect trim, this variant gets various cosmetic enhancements both inside and out, making it look more premium and unique compared to the standard model.
Design Differences
The most apparent difference in the Kuro Edition is its blacked-out exterior design. It substitutes chrome for gloss black on the area surrounding the grille and introduces smoked treatment to the LED headlights. The silver front skid plate of the normal Magnite is blacked out here, making the SUV’s aggressive stance even better.
Alongside, the Kuro Edition receives black alloy wheels measuring 16 inches, black roof rails, and a black window beltline. Both sides feature a ‘Kuro’ badge placed below the exterior mirrors, which differentiates it from the standard N-Connect trim that incorporates body-colour and silver trim. At the back, modifications are few, including a black lower skid plate and the same variant and model badging as the standard unit.
Interior and Cabin Features
Within, the Kuro Edition is based on an all ‘Midnight Black’ theme for the dashboard, seat upholstery, roof liner, and door pads. Piano black trimmings in the vicinity of the AC vents, centre console, door handles, steering wheel, and gear shifter complement the luxury feel.
Feature-to-feature, it equates the N-Connect trim with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, rear air con vents, automatic climate control, and push-button start/stop. The Kuro Edition also has a wireless charging phone and dashcam as dealer-level additions.
Safety Equipment
Both vehicles have six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, and rear parking sensors. The main difference is that the reverse parking camera is not part of the Kuro Edition.
Engine and Performance
There are no mechanical differences between the Kuro Edition and the standard Magnite. Both have two engine options:
- A 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor churning out 72 PS and 96 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
- A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor that makes 100 PS and up to 160 Nm, with a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission.
