Engine and Power
The new KTM 160 Duke is powered by a 164.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 19hp at 9,500rpm and 15.5Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Compared to the 200 Duke, it features shorter gearing, including a 45-tooth rear sprocket. This gives the bike a more punchy feel on city rides, and gear shifts are quicker.

Performance
Even on slightly wet roads during monsoon, this bike showed excellent performance in acceleration test. At the time of launch, its front wheel even lifted up, which is a proof of its power delivery. It reaches the speed of 0 to 40kmph in just 2.28 seconds, while it takes 4.59 seconds to reach 0 to 60kmph. The bike remains quite punchy and responsive till 80kmph, but it takes some time to reach 100kmph. Despite this, its acceleration seems practical and fun for city and short highway rides.
Braking and Safety
The Duke 160 also lives up to its reputation when it comes to braking. It takes just 18.80 metres to stop from 60 kmph. The front brake lever provides sharp and precise feedback, and ABS intervention is minimal, increasing confidence in emergency braking situations. A supermoto mode is also provided, allowing riders to disable rear ABS. This feature is especially suitable for those who enjoy adventurous riding.
