Hyundai Creta EV vs Tata Nexon EV : Electric cars are rapidly taking over the market of driving in India and have grown to be among the larger consumers of electricity. Rising costs of fuel and increased interest in green technology are pushing individuals towards electric vehicles more than ever. Tata Nexon EV has been one of the most considered options for years. Now the upcoming challenge for Tata will be the Hyundai Creta EV. Both are compact electric SUVs; which one will strike better value, features, and performance? Let’s find out.
The Tata Nexon EV firmly established itself in the electric-car segment. It comes in two versions: the Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The Nexon EV LR is powered by a 40.5 kWh battery, which is claimed to be able to offer a range of around 465 km under normal driving conditions, while the MR version can travel about 325 km. Smooth driving experience, improved cabin, big sized touch screen, digital instrument cluster, connected features; everything comes with its fast charging capabilities in less than an hour to reach a 0 to 80% full charge.

Hyundai Creta EV is expected to launch in late 2025; it will be completely electric and be based on the petrol variant of the Creta’s platform. It is likely to be featured with a 45 to 50 kWh battery pack together with a real-world range of around 450 to 500 km. If that happens, it would have a better range than the Nexon EV. Creta EV is expected to come with an array of features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ADAS, ventilated seats, and a large touchscreen. It would likely charge faster too.
Both SUVs have good styling. The newly facelifted Nexon EV has a shift-like futuristic design. The Creta EV will most likely follow the new `Parametric’ design theme, hence marked difference in LED lighting and a closed grille as a mark of identity for all EVs.

Price: Tata Nexon EV starts at about ₹ 14.50 lakh and tops out at ₹ 19.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai Creta EV is expected to start from around ₹ 22 lakh, making it more expensive, which it may justify with a better range, features, and brand value too.
In the end: If you want an affordable efficient, and proven electric SUV, then Tata Nexon EV remains a great pick. But if you can wait and spend that much more for additional range, features, and a pampered feel, then you may wait for the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
