Honda Hybrid Cars India 2026: Along with electric vehicles, the craze for hybrid technology is also rapidly growing in the Indian automobile market. Honda Cars India is fully prepared to expand its hybrid portfolio. Following the overwhelming response to the Honda City e:HEV currently in the market, the company is now working on the new PF2 platform to make its hybrid technology even more affordable.
Honda plans to introduce hybrid versions of its most popular sedan, the City, and mid-size SUV, the Elevate, by the end of 2026. Equipped with excellent mileage, low carbon emissions, and premium features, these vehicles will prove to be a masterstroke for customers who want to enjoy a luxurious ride without worrying about range.
Honda City Hybrid Facelift

The Honda City has always been a favorite among Indian middle-class families and professionals. The company is set to launch the Honda City e:HEV facelift in the second half of 2026. This new model will retain the existing 126bhp, 1.5-liter petrol-hybrid engine, paired with an advanced e-CVT gearbox.
In terms of design, the facelifted model will feature a new front grille, a more aggressive-looking bumper, and attractive alloy wheels with a new design. Inside, the car will feature new themed upholstery and several modern features that will further enhance its premium feel. This sedan is an excellent choice for those seeking highway mileage of up to 27 kmpl and unmatched comfort.
Honda Elevate Hybrid
To strengthen its foothold in the mid-size SUV segment, Honda is launching its Elevate SUV with a hybrid engine. According to media reports, it will use the same 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine as the City e:HEV, paired with two powerful electric motors. In terms of design and interior, it will be similar to the existing petrol Elevate, with the exception of a distinctive hybrid bodywork.
The arrival of the Elevate Hybrid will provide significant relief to customers who desire a large and upscale SUV but are concerned about rising petrol costs. This vehicle will prove to be very economical in both city traffic and highway traffic.
Honda ZR-V Hybrid
Honda is also preparing to bring its global SUV, the ZR-V Hybrid, to India. However, it will be imported directly from abroad as a CBU (Completely Built Unit), which could lead to a starting ex-showroom price of ₹50 lakh to ₹60 lakh. Globally, it features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol-hybrid engine that produces 180 bhp and 240 Nm of torque.

It will be equipped with luxury features such as ADAS technology, a panoramic sunroof, and a high-end sound system. It is a great option for buyers who want to enjoy Honda’s reliability and smooth hybrid technology in the premium segment.
PF2 Platform
The new PF2 architecture that Honda is working on is a significant step for the company’s future. It’s a fully modular platform, meaning it can easily be used to build everything from sedans to SUVs and crossovers. The platform’s biggest highlight is that it will allow Honda to significantly reduce the cost of its hybrid technology, allowing customers with budgets ranging from ₹1.5 million to ₹3 million to adopt hybrid cars. The sixth-generation Honda City, expected in 2028, will be based on this modern platform, designed with future needs in mind.
