Hero and Harley-Davidson partnership
Hero MotoCorp has established a strong presence in the 350cc to 450cc segment in India in association with American bike manufacturer Harley-Davidson. Under this partnership, Hero launched the Mavrick 440, which has now been discontinued in India.

But the company’s CEO, Vikram Kasbekar, has recently revealed that a new bike on this 440cc platform will be launched in Q2 2025, and more exciting products will come in 2026.
What could be the new 440cc bike
Hero could launch the Mavrick 440 Scrambler. The company has trademarked the name and has also patented the design. If true, the bike will compete directly with the Royal Enfield Scram 440 and may feature scrambler-style hardware like higher ground clearance, rugged design tyres and stronger suspension.
Another possibility is that Hero may relaunch an upgraded version of the Mavrick 440. The company showcased a premium version of it at the 2025 EICMA show, which featured a TFT instrument cluster, USD telescopic front forks (gold finish) and many other features. Hero also followed the same strategy with the Karizma XMR 210, where the base version was discontinued and only the top model was launched in the market.

What will be the price
The previous price of the Mavrick 440 was Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom). If the new version gets more features and better hardware, then its price may increase slightly. However, if Hero offers it around Rs 2.5 lakh, then it can give tough competition to bikes like Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.

What could come in 2026
Hero has indicated that more bikes will be launched on this 440cc platform in 2026. The company may launch the Xpulse 440, whose test mules were seen some time ago. This will be an adventure-oriented bike, which will compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM 390 Adventure. Apart from this, a new cruiser or sports bike can also be launched, which will further strengthen Hero’s dominance in the premium segment.
