New generation Creta

Hyundai recently made its strong presence felt in the electric market by introducing the Creta Electric. But now the company is also working on a new hybrid version of the Creta, which is internally codenamed SX3. If reports are to be believed, this new model could be launched by 2027 and will be manufactured at Hyundai’s Tamil Nadu factory.

This new Creta will see many upgrades in terms of design and features, but the biggest highlight will be its strong hybrid petrol engine. This technology will not only give better mileage, but will also take performance to a new level. Can this new Creta make a splash again in the list of India’s most popular SUVs?

New premium 7-seater SUV

Hyundai plans to add another big addition to its lineup – a premium 3-row SUV, which will be positioned above the Alcazar and close to the Tucson. It is codenamed Ni1i and will be built at Hyundai’s new Talegaon factory (which will start operations from 2026).

This SUV will directly compete with models like Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700. The special thing is that it will be offered in 6 and 7-seater variants, giving more flexibility to family users. Inspired by the Chinese long wheelbase Tucson (4.68 meters), this SUV will offer more space and comfort than the Alcazar.

Hybrid Powertrain

Both these new SUVs from Hyundai will use strong hybrid technology, which will give more fuel efficiency and less emissions than conventional petrol-diesel engines. Especially the premium 7-seater SUV can be given a combination of 1.5-liter petrol engine + electric motor + big battery, which will make it perform better both in the city and on the highway.

Price and Competition

It is expected that these new hybrid SUVs from Hyundai will come in the price range of ₹ 18 lakh to ₹ 30 lakh. This will put it directly in competition with rivals like the Mahindra XUV700. However, if Hyundai launches them with the right features and pricing, then it can set a new benchmark in the segment.
