The Ducati Monster is available in India in three variants — Monster Standard, priced at ₹1384,000, Monster Plus, priced at ₹1405,344, and Monster SP, priced at ₹1704,580 ( X-Shroom). These three are quite different in terms of version features and performance upgrades.
Design
Ducati has made the new Monster much more modern and sleek than before. Oval LED headlamps, muscular fuel tanks, sharp tail sections and twin side exhausts give it an aggressive streetfighter look. The new frame, lightweight alloy wheel and aluminum swingarm have reduced the bike’s weight by about 4.5 kg, making its handling and agility even better. Ducati has also made changes to ergonomics — Handlebar is brought closer to the rider and footrests are placed down, reducing fatigue even on long rides.
Engine
Monster’s heart is its 937cc Testastrata L-twin, liquid-cooled engine, which gives 111 bhp and 93 Nm of torque. The engine is responsive, torquey and very flexible, allowing you to walk comfortably in city traffic and make full use of its full potential on the highway. The six-speed gearbox comes with a standard anti-slip clutch and quickshifter, making gear shifting smooth and easy. Power delivery in every gear is so straightforward that the bike gives a fun experience for both new and experienced riders.
Performance
Monster not only depends on its powerful engine, but its chassis balance and weight distribution make it a very agile machine. Its 43mm upside-down front forks and preload-adjustable rear monoshock offer excellent stability on both city streets and high-speed corners. Braking is also premium, which is by Ducati’s name — 320mm disc with Brembo M4.32 monoblock calipers in the front and 245mm disc in the rear. Dual-channel ABS and cornering ABS greatly enhance confidence at high speeds.

In terms of features, the new Monster BS6 caters to every need of a modern naked sports bike. It has full-LED lighting systems, Bluetooth-ready 4.3-inch TFT displays, three riding modes — Sport, Urban and Touring — and advanced electronics such as traction control, launch control, cornering ABS and wheelie control.
