Launched in February 2022, BYD Atto 3 (sold as Yuan Plus in China) has swiftly captured the EV segment. Within the first 14 months in China, nearly 300,000 units were sold. Over the next six months, another 200,000 found buyers. BYD then accelerated exports, sending the model to over 100 countries. In just 1,391 days, the company recorded over 1 million global sales—averaging 719 units per day. BYD Atto 3 was launched in India in November 2022 at notably higher prices than in China due to no local manufacturing. While the base price in China is about ¥115,800 (approximately ₹13.97 lakh), Indian prices start at ₹24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Three variants are currently on sale in the Indian market:
- Dynamic: ₹24.99 lakh
- Top: ₹29.85 lakh
- Higher: ₹33.99 lakh

Battery Options and Driving Range
BYD Atto 3 comes in two battery packs:
- 49.92 kWh battery with a top range of up to 468 km
- 60.48 kWh battery with a maximum range of 521 km
Both choices accommodate various driving habits, satisfying daily drives and long-distance driving in a balanced manner.
Safety and Technology in Dynamic Variant
Even the entry-level Dynamic variant is loaded with safety and convenience features. It gets 7 airbags, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree holographic camera. It also lacks ambient lighting, electric tailgate, and Level 2 ADAS, which are not on offer in higher trims.
Premium and Superior Variants: Additional Perks
Premium trim upgrades the base features with adaptive headlights, and Superior trim provides an all-in package. It adds an 8-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, Level 2 ADAS, and an electric tailgate. These additions refine the driving experience to a more luxurious level.
