Mahindra is gearing up for a huge growth in its SUV line-up in India, with eight new models being lined up for introduction in the next 12 to 18 months. With majority of the prototypes already spotted testing, this forthcoming fleet features new-gen models, facelifts, and electric as well as hybrid variants.
New-Gen Bolero Neo: What to Expect
Mahindra will introduce a new ladder-frame chassis in August, probably coinciding with Independence Day celebrations. This platform will be the foundation for the all-new Bolero Neo, which has already been seen testing. It should receive upgraded styling and more robust underpinnings while remaining close to its rugged, utility-oriented charm.
XUV 3XO EV in the Making
The XUV 3XO EV, an electric variant of the new XUV 3XO ICE model, will make its debut soon. Slotted beneath the XUV400, this sub-compact electric SUV will have a driving range of about 450 km. Although the overall design will be identical, nuanced interior and exterior modifications will set it apart from its petrol counterpart.
XEV 7e to Join EV Lineup
Mahindra’s XEV 7e will also be built on the INGLO platform, which is already shared by the BE 6 and XEV 9e. It will probably have shared battery specifications with these models and is inspired by the XUV.e8 concept. The XEV 7e could be launched in the market before this year ends.
XUV700 Facelift Incoming
Spy images validate that Mahindra is developing a facelift for the bestselling XUV700. The initial prototypes indicate a reworked front fascia, with new headlamp housing and a fresh bumper. Although side features such as flush-mounted handles will remain, the rear is also likely to receive new tail lamps and some minor design changes. Cabin refinements are also in the pipeline.
Thar 3-Door Facelift: Rugged Gets Freshened
The iconic three-door Mahindra Thar is going in for a mid-cycle refresh. The facelift will borrow styling elements from the Thar Roxx version. Changes on the cards include updated headlamps, new wheels, fresh bumpers, and interior updates to provide a new appeal without diminishing its off-road philosophy.
BE Rall-E: Adventure-Ready EV SUV
The BE Rall-E is an electric off-road SUV derived from the BE 6 concept. Its test car has been seen undergoing testing, suggesting an imminent launch within a few months. The model will be very similar to the concept in terms of design and will appeal to enthusiasts looking for an electric adventure SUV.
XEV 9e and BE 6 Hybrid: A New Powertrain Direction
Mahindra is going to launch hybrid variants of the XEV 9e and BE 6 at a more affordable price point than their EV equivalents. The hybrids will have massive platform overhauls, given that the INGLO platform was actually intended for electric vehicles in the first place. The move marks Mahindra’s strategic shift towards hybrid mobility in addition to full-electric variants.
