Car excitement is mounting as six of India’s leading carmakers are set to launch new models in 2025. From electric cars to next-generation overhauls, the launches signal a change in direction toward cleaner mobility and new styling across segments. Here’s what to expect from these leading auto brands this year.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: The Company’s First Electric SUV

Maruti Suzuki is finally stepping into the EV arena with the e Vitara. This midsize electric SUV will be the company’s first zero-emission vehicle, scheduled to launch around September. Manufactured at the Gujarat facility, it will take on rivals like Tata Harrier EV and Hyundai Creta Electric. It will be retailed through Nexa’s premium outlets and aims to strengthen Maruti’s foothold in the electric segment.

Hyundai Venue New Generation Upgrade

The Hyundai Venue’s new-gen is coming out around the festive season. It will have updated exterior and interior design cues along with a list of improved features. But the powertrain line will stick to known 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel units for ensuring continuity of performance. The restyled Venue will appeal to customers looking for style, features, and fuel.

Mahindra Bolero Neo: A Rugged New Avatar

Mahindra is launching the next-gen Bolero Neo on August 15, 2025. It will come with an upgraded exterior design, a more premium interior configuration, and a strengthened ladder frame chassis. Though sticking to its tough tradition, this version will be more contemporary in its looks, trying to appeal to both traditional Bolero consumers as well as new buyers.

Tata Sierra EV: A Bold Leap in Electric Mobility

Tata Motors will bring back its legendary Sierra nameplate in this financial year, but with a difference—it’s electric. The Tata Sierra EV will come before its ICE counterpart and is likely to borrow several features from the Tata Harrier EV. With a real-world range of up to 500 km, serious interest will be brought in the SUV segment. The design, tech, and performance are all geared to advance Tata’s EV lineup.

Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV: Shared Platform, Strong Range

Toyota’s Urban Cruiser BEV will share its underpinnings with the e Vitara, which suggests robust common foundations with Maruti. It will have front-wheel drive and all-wheel-drive options, with a predicted driving range of more than 500 km. Toyota is obviously positioning this launch in the premium electric SUV segment and targeting tech-conscious customers.

Kia Clavis EV: A Practical Electric Option With Range

The Kia Clavis EV will launch in July 2025. A derivative of the newly launched ICE Clavis (Carens), it will have slight cosmetic updates but share a recognizable profile. Two battery pack options are anticipated, the likely transfer from the Creta Electric. With an estimated driving range in excess of 460 km, the Clavis EV will be marketed as a convenient, family-oriented electric option in the subcompact segment.
