Amid the GST 2.0 reforms in India, Kawasaki India has updated its popular sports motorcycle, the Z900, for 2026. This time, the company has launched a surprise attack on its rival, the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS, by reducing the price. The new Kawasaki Z900 is now priced at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable four-cylinder sports bike under ₹10 lakh (approximately ₹19,000 less than the previous model).

Powerful Engine and Great Performance

The 2026 Z900 comes with the same reliable 948cc liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that produces 125 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. This bike is known for its fast acceleration and smooth highway riding. The company hasn’t made any major changes to the engine this time, as it already offers excellent performance.

Equipped with Advanced Electronic Features

The 2026 Kawasaki Z900 now comes with several new electronic upgrades. It features integrated riding modes that combine power delivery with the traction control system. The KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) system ensures safety in all road conditions. Cruise control will also be a major boon for touring riders. The bi-directional quickshifter allows for clutch-free upshifts and downshifts. Ride-by-wire throttle, power modes, and dual-channel ABS also complete the package.

New Look and Refreshing Colors

Kawasaki has also made some changes to the Z900’s appearance for the 2026 model year. Two new color options have been added. The iconic Candy Green color, a signature Kawasaki logo, returns. A new Black color variant has also been introduced, with the contrast of the gold-colored trellis frame giving it a premium look.

Competition Against the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS

The Z900 competes directly with the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS. The Kawasaki features a larger 948cc engine that delivers better torque at a lower rev range, making it suitable for both city and highway use. The Triumph’s 765cc engine produces 120 PS of power at 11,500 RPM and 80 Nm of torque at 9,500 RPM, making it more track-focused.

The Triumph Street Triple RS features advanced Ohlins suspension, Brembo Stylema calipers, and an IMU-based electronics package, making it perform better on the track. Although the Z900 weighs 212 kg and lacks these premium features, its road-focused riding setup makes it extremely balanced.

A Golden Opportunity for Buyers

While the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS is priced at ₹12.92 lakh (ex-showroom), the Kawasaki Z900 is available for just ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This is approximately ₹2.4 lakh cheaper, making it a very attractive option. No other four-cylinder bike in this price range currently offers such features and performance.
