Vivah Panchami 2025 will be celebrated on 25 November, marking the divine wedding anniversary of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. According to Hindu tradition, the Shukla Paksha Panchami of the Margashirsha month is the sacred day on which their celestial marriage took place. For devotees struggling with marriage-related delays, broken match talks or horoscope issues, this day is considered highly auspicious.
Astrologers believe that Vivah Panchami works like a blessing for those facing obstacles due to Mars, Venus or seventh-house doshas. A few simple rituals performed on this day are believed to remove marriage blockages, often bringing positive results within months.
Start Your Day with Sacred Preparations
On Vivah Panchami, devotees wake up during Brahma Muhurta and take a holy bath. A pinch of turmeric should be added to the bathing water, followed by wearing yellow or red clothes—both considered auspicious for marital blessings.
At the home altar, place the idols or pictures of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Before beginning the central worship, perform the Ganesh Puja as Lord Ganesha is believed to remove all obstacles related to marriage.
Take 11 turmeric lumps and 11 blades of Durva grass. Tie them in a yellow cloth to make a small sacred pouch. Place it at Lord Ganesha’s feet and silently pray: “O Vighnaharta Ganesha, please remove every hurdle in my marriage and bless me with the right life partner soon.”
After this, apply a turmeric-curd paste to Lord Ganesha and offer laddoos as bhog. Devotees believe this ritual instantly clears seventh-house blockages.
Offer Sixteen Divine Adornments to Goddess Sita
One of the most effective rituals of Vivah Panchami is worshipping Goddess Sita with complete devotion. At noon, perform a special puja to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Offer 16 traditional adornments (Solah Shringar) to Goddess Janaki—such as a red dupatta, sindoor, bangles, mehendi, bindi, kajal and more.
According to belief, Goddess Sita removes delays in marriage, especially for girls facing Mangal Dosha or a weakened Venus. This ritual is said to attract suitable alliances and harmonise marital prospects.
Perform Kanya Bhoj for Divine Blessings
On Vivah Panchami, invite five or eleven young girls to your home and serve them a meal as a mark of reverence. Offer them small gifts, such as a red dupatta, bangles, or sweets, depending on your ability. Touch their feet and seek blessings at the end.
It is believed that feeding young girls directly attracts the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. Families struggling with delayed marriages—whether for a son or daughter—are strongly advised to perform this ritual for positive outcomes.
