Aadhaar Update: If you are an Aadhaar cardholder and wish to link your email ID to your Aadhaar card or update an existing one, this information is crucial for you. According to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Aadhaar cardholders can update their email IDs for free via the Aadhaar app until December 31, 2026.
Typically, updating an email ID through a service provider or shop costs up to ₹75. However, this UIDAI facility allows you to update your email digitally at no cost. The best part is that you do not need to visit any centre; you can complete this process from the comfort of your home using the Aadhaar app on your phone.
Which app should you download to update your email?
To ensure the security of your Aadhaar information, use only the official app. Do not download the app from unknown websites, social media links, or unverified sources. Search for the Aadhaar app on the Google Play Store (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iPhone), and verify the app details before downloading it to avoid falling for fake apps.
From OTP verification to Face Authentication — complete your email update seamlessly through Aadhaar App.
