Rs 23 Banking Stock with SBI Stake, Profit Up 55%, FIIs Purchase Over 24 Crore Shares

SBI-Yes Bank Share: Investors are watching Yes Bank’s stock closely on Monday, as it’s a subsidiary of SBI, the largest public sector bank in the country. This attention comes after the bank posted impressive quarterly results. Yes Bank’s standalone net profit surged by 55 percent for the quarter. Additionally, the bank’s net interest margin also rose by 11 percent. During the December quarter, foreign investors made significant purchases of Yes Bank shares.

Yes Bank’s quarterly results show a 55% year-on-year rise in standalone net profit, reaching ₹952 crore in the December quarter, up from Rs 612 crore a year ago. In the third quarter of FY26, the bank’s interest earnings totaled Rs 7,543 crore, a decrease of 3.7% from Rs 7,829 crore in the same quarter last year.

On the other hand, the primary source of loan income, known as net interest income (NII), saw an 11% increase to Rs 2,466 crore. The bank also improved its loan profitability, with its net interest margin (NIM) climbing to 2.6% from 2.4% last year and 2.5% in the previous quarter.

The bank’s profit before tax saw a notable increase compared to the last quarter, jumping 45% to Rs 5,078 crore from Rs 654 crore in the second quarter of FY2026. Yes Bank’s interest costs fell by 9% compared to the previous year, remaining steady at Rs 5,078 crore, similar to the last quarter.

Moreover, the bank’s asset quality has shown improvement. The proportion of bad loans (gross non-performing assets) dropped to 1.5%, a 0.10% improvement from both the previous year and the last quarter. After accounting for provisions, the percentage of bad loans (net non-performing assets) decreased to 0.3%, a 0.20% improvement from the previous year, and it stayed the same as the last quarter.

SBI ‘s stake

The country’s largest public sector bank also holds a significant stake in the bank. According to Trendline, SBI held a 10.78 percent stake in the bank as of December 2025, equivalent to 3,382,261,103 shares.
