Indian bowlers started the match well my sending back the openers quickly. But in the middle overs of the first innings of IND vs NZ 3rd ODI it was a pure carnage by Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Maxwell.
Thanks to brilliant centuries from Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips, New Zealand set India a target of 338 runs to win the third ODI at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. New Zealand scored 337 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana were the top wicket-takers for India.

Now, if Team India wants to win the series 2-1, it will have to achieve the target of 338 runs. Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls opened the innings for New Zealand in this match . Arshdeep Singh bowled the first over for India, providing the breakthrough on the fourth ball of the first over. He dismissed Henry for a duck.
New Zealand then suffered another blow with the first ball of the second over, struck by Harshit Rana. He dismissed Devon Conway for 5 runs. New Zealand lost 3 wickets for 5 runs in 1.1 overs. Will Young was dismissed for 30, leaving the team at 58/3.
Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips then steadied the innings, putting on 219 runs for the fourth wicket off 188 balls. Both reached their centuries in the process. Phillips scored 106 runs off 88 balls, including nine fours and three sixes, while Mitchell played a marathon innings of 137 runs off 131 balls, including 15 fours and three sixes. They both played a crucial role in helping the team recover from a precarious position and reach over 300.
After the two departed, New Zealand captain Michael Beswell scored an unbeaten 28. Jack Foulkes contributed 10 runs for the team. Arshdeep Singh took the most wickets for India, finishing with figures of 3 for 63 in 10 overs. Harshit Rana also took 3 for 84 in 10 overs. Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav each took one wicket.
