EPFO Update – The central government is about to make a major announcement for PF (Provident Fund) employees, which is currently being widely discussed. The government may soon approve the interest rate proposal for PF employees. This approval will be for the interest rate for the financial years 2025 and 2026, which will benefit a large number of employees.
According to a report, approximately 8 crore employees will receive the benefit of this interest. The interest rate announcement is expected after Holi. This time, the government may provide an interest rate of up to 8.75 per cent. This is expected to result in a substantial amount being credited to employees’ accounts.

When will the interest be announced?
The Modi government is expected to approve the interest rate for the financial years 2025 and 2026 after Holi, i.e., in the second week of March. The government may offer an interest rate of approximately 8.75 per cent this time. This would be about 0.5per centnt higher than last year. In the last financial year 2024-2025, an interest rate of 8per centcent was provided. The government has been providing interest every year, and now all employees are eagerly awaiting this year’s announcement.
Amount to be received based on per centrcent interest
If the central government announcesa percentaget interest rate, employees are expected to receive a significant amount. If an employee has Rs. 4 lakh in their PF account, approximately Rs. 37,000 can be transferred to their account based on an interest rate.

Similarly, if an employee has up to Rs. 5 lakh deposited in their PF account, approximately Rs. 46,000 can be credited based on per cent percent interest rate. This amount will be a significant boost for PF employees. PF employees can easily check this amount without any difficulty.
How to check your fund
PF employees can easily check their fund amount without any hassle. To do this, you first need to give a missed call to the registered number 011-22901406. After the call is disconnected, you will receive an SMS. This will include information about your PF balance and last contribution.
Check your balance via SMS.
EPF members need to send an SMS from their registered mobile number to 7738299899. The message should be in the format EPFOHO UAN (followed by the first three letters of your preferred language, for example, EPFOHO UAN HIN for Hindi). You will receive an SMS with your balance and KYC details. You can get updates on your PF amount this way.
