BMC Election Result 2026 – In the BMC elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to be performing exceptionally well in the trends. On the other hand, the party of the Thackeray brothers, who reunited after a long time with the intention of winning in the BMC, is lagging far behind. This clearly indicates that the BJP alliance has achieved a resounding victory in the Maharashtra municipal corporation elections.
The BJP has crossed the century mark in the trends, leading in 102 seats. The Uddhav Thackeray faction is leading in a total of 63 seats, while the Congress party is in a dismal state, leading in only 9 seats. Others are leading in 6 seats. AIMIM has also surprised everyone, leading in two seats.
AIMIM gains ground in Abu Azmi’s stronghold
In Abu Azmi’s stronghold of Shivaji Nagar, Govandi, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party, AIMIM, has gained a lead. This means that the Samajwadi Party (SP) hold on to Shivaji Nagar, Govandi, and Abu Azmi’s stronghold, which could be broken. This could prove to be a major setback for Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi. On the other hand, the Uddhav faction’s candidate has registered a victory in Goregaon. In Ward 53, Jitendra Valvi, the candidate of the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray Shiv Sena, has won.

Nawab Malik’s brother was defeated in the election.
Captain Malik, the candidate of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Sharad Pawar faction and brother of Nawab Malik, has lost the electioninm Ward 165. Congress candidate Ashraf Azmi has won from this ward. Additionally, 7 candidates have been declared winners in Mumbai, including 3 from Shiv Sena.
First result in favour of Congress
The first result of the BMC election came in favour of the Congress. Congress party’s Asha Kale won from Ward 184, securing 1450 votes. Asha Kale defeated Vaishali Shewale of the Shinde faction and Parubai Katke of the MNS. Meanwhile, BJP’s Ajay Patil has won in Ward number 214.
BJP gains ground here
In the BMC elections, the BJP has continuously strengthened its lead in the Malabar Hill area of South Mumbai. The BJP is still leading here. The BJP is ahead by approximately 2000 votes.
The biggest test in the BMC elections is for the Thackeray brothers. In this election, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray had joined forces to challenge the BJP alliance. However, the trends indicate a major setback for both brothers. The BJP alliance is heading towards a massive majority.
