JEE Main 2026: JEE Main 2026 is considered one of the most important engineering entrance examinations in the country. Millions of students appear for it every year. Adhering to the examination centre’s rules is extremely important for candidates. According to the NTA’s JEE guidelines, strict rules govern reporting time and dress code on the day of the exam. Sometimes, even small mistakes can be costly for candidates, such as arriving late or wearing the wrong attire. Therefore, it is important to know when to arrive at the examination centre and what the dress code will be.
JEE Main 2026 Reporting Time
The JEE Main 2026 examination will be conducted in two shifts. During the morning shift, candidates may enter the examination centre from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM. The exam will start at 9:00 AM and continue until 12:00 PM. In the second shift, entry will be from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM, and the exam will be from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Please note that once the gates are closed, entry will not be permitted. Therefore, students are advised to arrive at the centre at least one hour before the exam to avoid delays in biometric verification, security checks, and seat allocation. For entry to the examination centre, the JEE Main 2026 admit card, a valid photo identity card, a passport-size photograph, and a self-declaration form are mandatory.

What is the Dress Code?
Following the dress code on the day of the exam is also important. Wear light, simple clothing without large buttons or zippers. Sandals or slippers are acceptable. Wearing jewellery, watches, or any metal objects is prohibited. Closed shoes or sandals with heels are not allowed.

The exam city slip will open on the screen.
Candidates should now check and download it. Finally, candidates should take a printout.
When will the Admit Card be released?

The exam city slip is only used to provide information about the examination city. It is not used as an admit card. The JEE Main Admit Card will be made available for download 3 to 4 days before the exam date.
