Nissan Tekton SUV – Nissan is once again preparing to play big bets in the Indian auto market. In early February the company is going to officially introduce its brand new midsize SUV Nissan Tekton. The unveiling on 4 February 2026 will not be just a glimpse of a new car, but is seen as Nissan’s strong return to India again. This SUV will land in segments where there is already stiff competition, but Nissan’s trust is clearly reflected in its design, platforms and features.

India Resurgence Event
Nissan Motor India is going to veil from Nissan Tekton during its exclusive India Resurgence Event. Interestingly, the company will also launch a seven-seater MPV named Gravite on 21 January, just before Tekton. While Gravite will come as an affordable family car, Tekton will be fully positioned as a premium midsize SUV.

Rival
Nissan Tekton is being launched in segments where veteran players are already present. Its direct combat is believed to be from SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Mahindra Scorpio N. Customers in this segment no longer give equal attention to features, safety and road presence, not just brands. In such a situation Tekton has to prove himself different.
Platform
Nissan Tekton is built on the localized CMF-B platform. The same platform will also form the basis of the upcoming new generation Renault Duster, which is scheduled to launch on 26 January 2026. This platform has been specifically designed keeping in mind Indian roads and safety standards.

Engine
If we talk about its engine, let me tell you that Nissan has not shared official information about Tekton’s engine, but it is expected that it will be given turbo-petrol engines. These engines can come with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
Not only this, Nissan is also considering a Strong-Hybrid version, which can be launched at a later stage. Top variants are also expected to have an all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which will make it more capable of off-road and bad paths.

Design
Nissan Tekton’s design is being inspired by the brand’s large global SUVs, especially from trains such as Nissan Patrol. Its stance will be more straight and muscular, which will make its presence on the road look stronger.

The large grill in the front, C-shape LED headlamps, raised bonnet lines and strong shoulder lines on the side will make its look more powerful. The full-width LED light bar and large Tekton badge in the rear will give it a modern identity.
Interior and Features
Although interior images haven’t been released yet, expectations are high. The Nissan Tekton is likely to feature a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and soft-touch materials.
