The Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab has given every family in the state a significant gift on the occasion of the New Year 2026. Now, every citizen of Punjab, whether rich or poor, will be able to avail free cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh annually under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme (MMSY). Previously, this limit was only ₹5 lakh, but it has now been doubled.
Launching on January 15, 2026, the scheme will cover 6.5 million families in the state. According to Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, this scheme is a significant step towards providing health security to 100% of the population.

100% Protection Without Any Income Limit
The most powerful feature of this scheme is that there is no income limit. The old Ayushman Bharat scheme had many complex conditions, preventing middle-class families from availing its benefits. However, under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme, every permanent resident of Punjab is equally eligible. Arvind Kejriwal will officially launch this steely scheme on January 15th. This scheme is a safety net for 6.5 million families in Punjab, who will now be able to access excellent healthcare without any financial burden.
