PAN-Aadhaar Linking Deadline: With the start of the new year, several new rules have come into effect. The most important of these is the PAN-Aadhaar linking. The Income Tax Department had made it mandatory to link PAN cards with Aadhaar cards. The Income Tax Department had set December 31, 2025, as the last date for this. But now this date has passed. This could be bad news for PAN cardholders who have not yet linked their PAN with Aadhaar. The government had already made it clear that if PAN is not linked with Aadhaar, it will be deactivated.
A deactivated PAN card means that you will not be able to perform any banking transactions, income tax-related work, or KYC procedures. Investment-related activities will also be affected. What happens now is still uncertain. The Income Tax Department has not made any official announcement or issued any further guidelines.

Those who have not linked their PAN card with Aadhaar even after the deadline can now keep their PAN card active by paying a late fee. A late fee of Rs. 1000 will have to be paid. Only after this will they be able to start the linking process. If you do not pay the late fee and activate your PAN card now, you cannot imagine the problems you might face in the future. Let’s learn about the Aadhaar-PAN linking process in detail.
