Joe Root celebrated his 35th birthday on Tuesday (December 30). At the age of 35, Joe Root has achieved great heights in Test cricket. This is why he is now being compared to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, known as the God of Cricket. Sachin Tendulkar has played 200 Test matches in his career and scored a record 15,921 runs. Sachin Tendulkar is the highest run-scorer in Test cricket.
Joe Root can get the oppertunity to go pass Sachin Tendulkar’s record
However, considering Joe Root’s brilliant performance, it seems that Root will break Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most runs in Test cricket. Although cricket is considered a game of uncertainties, based on statistics, Joe Root is no longer far behind Sachin Tendulkar. At the age of 35, Sachin Tendulkar appears to be lagging behind Joe Root in terms of the stage of his career and the number of runs he scored. By the time he turned 35, Sachin Tendulkar had played 147 Test matches, scoring 11,782 runs at an average of 55.31.

However, Joe Root’s average is less than Sachin Tendulkar. Joe Root, who consistently bats in excellent form and focuses solely on Test cricket, appears to be very close to Sachin Tendulkar’s record. Root is now 2144 runs behind Sachin Tendulkar’s total runs. Sachin scored a total of 51 Test centuries in his career, while Root currently has 40.

Many cricket experts believe that if Root continues to play Test cricket until the age of 40, i.e., until the age of 40, his record could be broken. Only time will tell whether Joe Root will be able to match Sachin’s record, but the year 2025 has been a very successful one for Root. He is the highest run-scorer in ODI cricket this year, and also ranks third in Test runs this year, behind Shubman Gill and KL Rahul.
