Rajshree Yojana: In Rajasthan, the birth of a daughter is no longer a burden, but a celebration. The state government’s Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana is proving to be a boon for ensuring equal rights for daughters in society and covering the substantial expenses of their education from birth to Class 12. Under this scheme, the government transfers a total sum of ₹50,000 in installments to daughters’ bank accounts. If you are a native of Rajasthan and have welcomed a little angel into your home, this article is a treasure trove of valuable information for you.
Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana

The Rajasthan government launched this powerful scheme on June 1, 2016. The government has several strong objectives behind launching this scheme. Primarily, eliminating the growing discrimination between boys and girls in society, curbing heinous crimes like female foeticide, and encouraging daughters to pursue higher education are the core tenets of this scheme. Through this scheme, the government aims to ensure that no girl child is forced to leave her education due to poverty and can live with dignity in society.
6 installments of the Rajshree Scheme
Under this scheme, the government provides a total of ₹50,000 in six separate installments. The first installment of ₹2,500 is given at the hospital at the time of the girl’s birth. Afterward, when the girl child turns one year old and is fully vaccinated, she receives another ₹2,500 in the form of a second installment.
As the girl child enters the threshold of education, the amount of assistance increases even more. The third installment of ₹4,000 is given upon admission to the first grade of a government school. The fourth installment of ₹5,000 is given upon reaching the sixth grade.
Moving to higher levels of education, the daughter receives the fifth installment of ₹11,000 upon admission to Class 10. The largest and most significant portion of this scheme is received when the daughter successfully passes Class 12; at this time, she is given the final installment of ₹25,000.
Conditions and Eligibility
The government has imposed certain mandatory conditions to avail the benefits of this Steel Scheme. The first condition is that the daughter must be born in a government hospital or a government-registered private medical institution. This scheme is only for daughters born after June 1, 2016.
The beneficiary family must be a native of Rajasthan. Furthermore, the third and subsequent installments are only available if the daughter continues her education in a government school. It should also be noted that this Steel Scheme benefit is limited to the first two children (daughters) in the family.
How to avail the benefits
The Rajasthan government has made the application process very simple and foolproof. You don’t need to rush for the first and second installments; they are processed seamlessly at the time of birth at a government hospital based on the “Shubhlakshmi” or “Janani Suraksha Yojana” data.

Parents can apply for subsequent installments online through e-Mitra or the Shala Darpan portal. Assistance can also be obtained from the Women and Child Development Department office. This fiduciary amount is transferred directly to the mother’s bank account, which must be linked to her Aadhaar card.
Required Documents
To avoid any obstacles in availing the benefits of the scheme, it is essential to have the correct documents. Both parents’ Aadhaar or Jan Aadhaar cards are mandatory. Your daughter’s birth certificate is a crucial document that you should keep safe from the very beginning. Additionally, the Maternal and Child Health Card (Mamta Card) received after vaccination is essential for the second installment.
Once your daughter starts school, you must present your school admission certificate to receive each subsequent installment. The lack of these documents could prevent your installment from being received.
