How Much Government Assistance Will Be Provided for Setting Up an Oil Mill?

Under the new scheme, eligible beneficiaries setting up an oil processing unit will receive a 33 percent subsidy on the total project cost. This assistance will be limited to a maximum of Rs. 9,90,000. According to the scheme, this maximum assistance will be provided for setting up an oil mill with a capacity of 10 tons, enabling small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to easily start their businesses.

Which Expenses Are Not Covered by the Subsidy?

The government has clarified that no subsidy will be provided for land purchase or building construction under this scheme. These items will not be included when assessing the project cost. The subsidy will only be applicable to machinery, equipment, and processing-related expenses.

Online Application Process and Deadline

The application process for this scheme is entirely digital. Interested farmers and youth can apply online at the official website of the Department of Agriculture, dbtagriculture.bihar.gov.in, until December 15th. During the application process, it is mandatory to upload basic information related to oil processing and all necessary documents.

Who Can Avail the Scheme’s Benefits?

Individual farmers, private and government industries, farmer-producer organizations, cooperative societies, and registered startups can benefit from this scheme. The government believes that this scheme will increase self-employment opportunities in rural areas and give a new direction to oilseed-based industries.
