Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya achieved a major milestone by scoring a half-century (59*) in the first match of the T20 series against South Africa . This was his sixth half-century of his T20 career, which he completed in 25 balls. By hitting the fourth six of his innings, he completed 100 sixes in T20 Internationals.

He is the fourth Indian to achieve this feat. His innings helped India score 175/6. Batting first, India were bowled out for 78 runs, four wickets down. Pandya then joined Axar Patel (23) for 26, Shivam Dube (11) for 33, and Jitesh Sharma (10*) for 38 before reaching his half-century. He remained unbeaten on 59 off 28 balls, hitting six fours and four sixes. This helped India post a big total.

Pandya has now become the fourth-highest six-hitter for India in T20 Internationals, behind Rohit Sharma (205). Rohit is also the world’s leading six-hitter in this format. India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav holds the second-highest six-hitter record with 155 sixes. Virat Kohli is third with 124 sixes. Pandya made his T20I debut against Australia in 2016.

He has now taken 100 wickets in 108 innings across 121 matches at an average of 26.58 and an economy rate of 8.22. His best figures are 4/16. He has also scored 1,919 runs in 95 innings at a strike rate of 141.01, including six half-centuries. His best score is 71.
