Sometimes, changes in regulations enhance convenience in everyday life. So, let’s learn about these changes…

LPG Cylinder Prices
Actually, oil companies revise LPG prices on the first of every month. The rates for commercial LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders and domestic cylinders have been updated today, December 1st. Consumers of commercial cylinders have received some relief. However, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders. Today, the cost of blue cylinders has been reduced by only ₹10 from Delhi to Patna.

In Delhi, a 19 kg LPG cylinder will be available for ₹1580.50 from December 1st, down from ₹1590.50. In Kolkata, the cylinder will now cost ₹1684, down from ₹1694. In Mumbai, a commercial cylinder will now cost ₹1531.50, down from ₹1542. In Chennai, a commercial cylinder will now be available for ₹1739.50, down from ₹1750.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Rates?
Based on Indian Oil data, a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder currently costs ₹853 in Delhi.

In Mumbai, it costs ₹852.50; in Lucknow, ₹ 890.50. Whereas, in Kargil it is ₹985.5, in Pulwama it is ₹969, and in Bageshwar it is ₹890.5.

How is the price of LPG determined?

It is based on the Import Parity Price (IPP), which includes international prices, the dollar-rupee exchange rate, freight, taxes, etc. Prices vary across states due to state-specific taxes and logistics costs. Subsidies, such as the government’s Ujjwala scheme, reduce the actual expenditure of eligible consumers. The subsidy amount is transferred directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
