Mahindra XEV 9S: When new technology meets real practicality, something is created that catches everyone’s attention. Mahindra’s new XEV 9S has come with exactly the same feel. The model has come into discussion as India steps into the 7-seater electric SUV segment, especially because it is Mahindra’s first 7-seater electric SUV.

The recently launched SUV in Bengaluru has been designed by the company on the INGLO platform, and offers different batteryy options and variant packs.

Design, Platform & Variant

Let me tell you that XEV 9S has been developed on INGLO architecture, the same platform on which XEV 9e and BE 6 are made. This platform is more advanced in terms of length, wheelbase and interior space. In India it has been introduced in four variants and six color options. These include premium shades such as Everest White, Ruby Velvet, Stealth Black, Desert Myst, Nebula Blue and Midnight Black.

Talking about Variants, the SUV is divided into three main packs Pack One Above, Pack Two Above, Pack Three Above, and a fullly-loaded top variant Pack Three Above+. Battery choices include 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh packs, allowing each buyer to choose an SUV according to its use and range.

Battery, Power & Charging

The XEV 9S comes in three battery packs, which directly vary the power output. The power range of the SUV goes from 170 kW to 210 kW. The first is a 70 kWh battery which provides 180 kW power + 380 Nm and the second is a 79 kWh battery which provides up to 210 kW power.

Talking about fast charging, with the help of DC chargers (140 kW–180 kW), 20–80% charging is completed in just 20 minutes. This means that even long journeys are hassle-free.

Booking, Test Drive & Delivery Timeline

The bookings of the Mahindra XEV 9S will start from 14 January 2026, while test drives will be available from 5 January 2026. Customer deliveries will be launched from 23 January 2026.

Speaking of Price, this SUV is offered as a value-packed electric 7-seater. Its prices are placed between ₹19.95 lakh–₹29.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It is about ₹2 lakh less expensive than the XEV 9e and still offers premium features like triple screens from base variant itself.

Pack One Above Features

Let me tell you that Pack One is the most value-packed variant, with triple 12.3-inch screens, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, built-in Alexa, wireless smartphone connection, 5G support and pre-loaded setup of many smart apps.

To improve its Drive experience, it includes techniques such as multi-step regenerative braking, one-touch single pedal driving and intelligent adaptive suspension. Bi-LED headlamps, panoramic skyroof and sequential indicators in Exterior give the SUV a premium stance.

This variant is also quite strong in Safety. Features like 6 airbags, L2 ADAS, 360° camera, blind view monitor and high-rigidity bodyshell make it safe. Comfort features such as dual-zone climate control, powered driver seat, 2nd row recline and frunk + boot combination increase practicality.

Pack Two Above Features

70 kWh battery option has been added to the Pack Two, bringing the motor output to 180 kW. This variant on the Entertainment side does wonders. The 16-speaker Harman Kardon setup, Sonic Studio tuning and Dolby Atmos make your drive theatre experience.

Leatherette upholstery, soft-touch trims, ventilated seats and CapTouch controls in Interior make it ample premium. Smart additions such as wireless charger, NFC key and cruise control are also given for Convenience.

Pack Three Above Features

The real highlight of this variant is its L2+ ADAS setup, which has 5 radars + 1 camera. Features like blind spot detection, cross traffic alert, auto lane change and lane centering make it extremely intelligent.

Tech pack includes VisionX AR HUD, 360° vehicle monitoring with recording, video calling, dual wireless charging, auto park assist and high-level lighting features. Second-row ventilated seats and boss mode rear seat comfort give a new dimension.

Pack Three Above+ Features

This top variant features an upgraded Snapdragon 8295 processor, 24GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, delivering smartphone-like speeds in the infotainment experience. CapTouch steering controls make it even more futuristic.
