UPI: The BHIM Payments app has introduced a new UPI Circle Full Delegation feature, which makes digital payments easier, safer, and more transparent. Under this feature, the primary user can authorize their trusted family members or employees to make payments from their bank account up to Rs 15,000 per month without creating their own UPI ID or bank account.
With UPI Circle full delegation, a secondary user can initiate and complete payments directly from the primary user’s account, providing seamless control of daily spending. The primary user will receive real-time notifications for each transaction and can instantly cancel the delegation if needed.
This option is especially useful for seniors, college-going children, and small businesses to better manage their financial transactions. The BHIM app allows you to check your status, set limits, and set a validity period from 1 month to 5 years within the UPI circle.
According to Lalitha Nataraj, CEO of NBSL, “The Full Delegation feature has been designed to address the nature of Indian households and businesses, which is based on trust, flexibility, and accountability. It will help make digital transactions simple, secure, and inclusive.”
UPI Circle Full Delegation further enhances the full power of UPI Circle, launched in 2024. Previously, partial delegation was in place, requiring the primary user’s approval for every payment. Secondary users now have more freedom, which is a major advantage for users new to digital transactions and those new to digital transactions.
This feature gives users a new freedom, both socially and financially, allowing them to better control their financial spending without being bogged down by the complexities of apps or bank accounts.
