Mokshada Ekadashi Vrat – Mokshada Ekadashi is considered one of the most auspicious days dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu. Devotees observe fast with deep devotion, seeking freedom from past sins and inviting peace, prosperity and spiritual growth into their lives. It is believed that observing the Akshaya or Mokshada Ekadashi fast helps a person attain purity of mind and divine blessings. When Should Mokshada Ekadashi Be Observed?

According to the Hindu Panchang, the Margashirsha Shukla Ekadashi tithi will begin on 30 November at 9:29 PM and will end on 1 December at 7:01 PM. Therefore, the Mokshada Ekadashi fast will be observed on 1 December.

How to Observe the Mokshada Ekadashi Vrat?

On the day of Mokshada Ekadashi, devotees wake up early, take a bath and wear clean clothes before beginning their worship.

Start by offering prayers to Lord Vishnu and bathe the deity with Ganga water. Offer flowers, tulsi leaves, yellow clothes and sweets to the Lord. It is essential to take a sankalp (vow) for the fast, expressing devotion and commitment for the entire day.

Listening to the Mokshada Ekadashi Vrat Katha holds great significance. Devotees observing the fast should avoid grains and instead rely on fruits, water, or light fasting foods. Spend the day chanting mantras, singing bhajans and meditating on Lord Vishnu.

In the evening, perform another round of Vishnu Puja, and the fast should be broken the next morning after sunrise during the paran time.

Rules to Follow During Mokshada Ekadashi

Religious texts emphasise maintaining truthfulness, non-violence and self-control throughout the fast. Devotees should avoid negative thoughts, harmful actions or any form of dishonesty during the day.
