CTET 2026: Who can apply?
The CTET exam is conducted at two levels: Paper 1 (Primary Level) and Paper 2 (Elementary Level). The eligibility criteria for each are different.
Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5) Eligibility:
Candidates must have 50% marks in 12th grade.
A 2-year D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) is also mandatory.
If a candidate has a Graduation + B.Ed., they will also be considered eligible for Paper 1.
Paper 2 (Class 6 to 8) Eligibility
Candidates must have a Graduation degree.
A 2-year D.El.Ed. or B.Ed.AÂ degree is required.
When will the CTET 2026 exam be held?
According to the schedule released by CBSE, the CTET exam date is February 8, 2026. The exam will be conducted in two shifts at various centres across the country.
