The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made a collaboration with India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). They are agreed to provide the service of Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) for pensioners under the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 (EPS’95). This partnerships special attraction is at the doorstep convenience of the Pensioners.

A Digital Life Certificate is an Aadhaar-based biometric certificate issued for pensioners. Each certificate has a unique identity called Pramaan-ID. Upon submission of the Document, the pension-disbursing agency processes the certificate automatically.

How it will work

This new partnership will help EPFO pensioners submit their Digital Life Certificates from home. They will no longer need to visit banks or EPFO offices to submit paper certificates.

IPPB will provide this service through its network of more than 1.65 lakh post offices and over 3 lakh postal service providers. IPPB staff will visit the pensioner’s home with a device that supports face and fingerprint authentication.

This service will be given free of cost by IPPB staff.

Every year, pensioners must submit a life certificate to the bank, post office, or any pension-giving agency as proof that they are alive. After checking the life certificate, the pension is credited to their account.

When to Submit the Life Certificate

Pensioners must submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC), also called life proof, between November 1 and November 30 to continue getting their pension without any break.
Senior citizens aged 80 years and above can submit their life certificate early, from October 1, 2025.

Digital Life Certificate Service

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) started the Digital Life Certificate Doorstep Service in 2020. This service helps pensioners submit life proof quickly by using Aadhaar-based biometric verification.
