What happens if your PAN card is deactivated?
Tax Buddy has posted on its X, stating that you will not be able to file your income tax return. Furthermore, you will not be able to process refunds. Furthermore, the deactivation of your PAN card could result in the withholding of your salary. SIP investments may also fail. According to Tax Buddy, banks can block your transactions and investments. This is why linking your PAN and Aadhaar has become mandatory. However, NPAs, senior citizens over 80, and those in certain states are exempt. This requires verification from the Income Tax Department.
