Monsoon Update – The weather is rapidly changing across most parts of India. In the northern states, temperatures are dropping, bringing a chill. Snowfall and rain in the mountains have intensified the cold. Its effects are now visible in the plains as well. During the day, rain in some hilly areas of Himachal and Uttarakhand brought temperatures down.
Possible weather is expected in many states until November 6th. The next two days are also expected to be difficult for the northeastern states, where rain is expected. Rain is also expected in most parts of South India. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for thunderstorms and heavy rain in several states across the country.
Heavy Rain Expected in Many States
According to the Meteorological Department, many areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan are expected to remain cloudy due to Cyclone Monta and a western disturbance. On November 4th, rain is expected in the capital Delhi, Haryana, and surrounding areas due to cloud movement. Thunderstorms are also expected here. While Cyclone Monta has weakened, the northeastern states may continue to experience rain.
Rainfall in the states of Northeast and South India
The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms and lightning in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura. The IMD has also issued a warning for heavy rain with strong thunderstorms and lightning in Meghalaya, West Bengal, and Assam.
Heavy rain is likely in many parts of Nagaland, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh. Thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and light rain, are possible in Telangana, Vidarbha, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. It is also advised to stay away from coastal areas.
Weather in these parts of Gujarat
According to the IMD, inclement weather is expected in many areas of Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Veraval, and Mahuva. Cloudy skies are also expected in Somnath, Amreli, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Anand, and Junagadh. Rain is also expected in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
