The UPPSC LT Grade Exam 2025 has drawn massive attention from aspiring teachers all over Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment drive for LT Grade Assistant Teachers in government secondary schools was welcomed after a gap of seven years, making it one of the most competitive exams this year.
Intense Competition Across Subjects
In the UPPSC LT Grade Exam 2025, a total of 12,36,238 applicants applied for 7,385 posts. Surprisingly, Biology was the most sought-after subject with 1,51,366 candidates applying for only 214 posts. That means around 707 candidates are contesting for one seat.
Social Science comes in second with 2,09,575 candidates for 701 posts, close to approximately 299 applicants per seat. Mathematics and Hindi also saw a high volume of applications at 1,86,993 and 1,29,514, respectively. However, Computer Science saw just 70,496 applicants for 1,056 posts, indicating a low competition of 67 applicants per post.

Exam Schedule Announced
UPPSC has announced the exam dates for 14 subjects out of the 15 included in the UPPSC LT Grade Exam 2025. The tests have been scheduled for two continuous months, December and January. Mathematics and Hindi exams are scheduled for December 6, while Science and Sanskrit exams will be conducted on December 7.
Home Science and Commerce exams will be held on December 21. Social Science and Biology are scheduled to be held on January 17, whereas English and Physical Education exams will be conducted on January 18. Computer Science exam dates remain to be declared.
Selection Process
This year UPPSC LT Grade Exam 2025 will be conducted in two stages: Preliminary and Main examinations. The preliminary test will include objective-type multiple-choice questions that will shortlist the candidates. The qualified candidates will move for the Main examination, where the final selection will be based on merit. This is quite a significant change from the previously adopted single-exam selection criterion for 2018.
