Exterior Design
The new Mahindra compact SUV is based on the Vision S concept, which Mahindra showcased last year. Although the car is camouflaged during testing, its basic shape is clearly visible. It will feature a bold and muscular design language similar to the Scorpio family. The car’s strong shoulders, prominent wheel arches, and upright stance clearly indicate that it will carry the true Mahindra DNA. This car looks like a younger sibling that resembles its elder brother Scorpio but has its own distinct style.

Interior
The interior of this new compact SUV is truly amazing. The cabin layout shown in the concept has also been carried over to the production model. On the dashboard, you will see dual screens – one touchscreen infotainment unit and the other for the instrument panel. Vertically stacked AC vents separate these two screens. There are mounted controls on the three-spoke steering wheel, and physical buttons for air conditioning and music are provided on the central console. This interior looks like a mini science lab – small but equipped with all the necessary tools.
Panoramic Sunroof
Spy images have revealed that this new baby Scorpio will also feature a panoramic sunroof. The concept showcased a glass roof with built-in lighting. This feature will also be present in the production version, giving the cabin a spacious and airy feel. Grab handles are also provided in the front and second rows, which will help with easy ingress and egress. This feature further enhances the car’s premium appeal.
Platform and Engine Options
This new Mahindra SUV is built on the brand’s new INGLO modular platform, which is compatible with ICE, hybrid, and EV powertrains. The car will likely be offered with a 1.2L turbo petrol engine, along with a strong hybrid unit. A 1.5L turbo diesel unit may also be available for diesel enthusiasts. This platform is like a versatile performer, capable of playing every role.
Launch Details
This compact SUV, based on the Mahindra Vision S, is expected to be unveiled in 2026. The SUV is likely to go on sale by the end of 2026 or early 2027. This timing is perfect for Mahindra as it will give them a chance to establish a strong foothold in the compact SUV segment. This car could be perfect for those who want Scorpio-like quality but in a smaller size.

Price and Competition
Although official prices have not yet been announced, we can expect this SUV to be offered in the ₹8-12 lakh range. In this range, it will directly compete with cars like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos, Maruti Vitara Brezza, and Nissan Magnite. Given the reliability of the Mahindra brand and the Scorpio name, this car is expected to receive a good response in the market.
