Design
The Honda CB125 Hornet’s design is inspired by its larger sibling, the Hornet 2.0. The bike’s headlight design is unique, with the high beam positioned at the top and the low beam positioned at the bottom. Its fuel tank extensions and sharp side panels give it a muscular appearance. It comes in four color options: Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Sports Red, Igneous Black, and Athletic Blue Metallic.

On the other hand, the TVS Raider 125’s design is no less than that of a superhero. Its twin-pod headlamp cluster is so unique that fans affectionately call it “Bumblebee.” The bike comes in three colors: Wicked Black, Forza Blue, and Fiery Yellow. There’s also a Super Squad Edition, inspired by Marvel superheroes. The Raider’s design appears more friendly and youth-focused, while the Hornet offers a more muscular and premium feel.
Suspension
Speaking of suspension, the Honda CB125 Hornet is the first bike in this segment to feature golden inverted front forks. These not only enhance its appearance but also provide better handling. A preload-adjustable monoshock is provided at the rear. However, its suspension is a bit firm, making the ride feel sporty.
The TVS Raider 125 features conventional telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock. The Raider’s suspension is quite comfortable, making it perfect for everyday city riding. If you want a smooth and less tiring ride, the Raider is a better choice, while if you prefer a sportier feel, the Hornet is a better option.
Engine and Performance
Coming to the engine and performance, the Honda CB125 Hornet is powered by a 123.94cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 11.14 PS of power and 11.2 Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox and a silent start feature, ensuring a quiet start.
The TVS Raider 125, meanwhile, has a 124.8cc engine that produces 11.38 PS of power and 11.2 Nm of torque. With its iGo Assist feature, it can generate up to 11.75 Nm of torque. The Raider is not only powerful but also lightweight, which allows for quick pickup. This means the Raider has a slight edge in terms of performance.
Braking
The Honda CB125 Hornet features front disc and rear drum brakes, along with single-channel ABS. ABS provides better control during braking, especially on slippery roads.
The TVS Raider 125 currently offers CBS (Combined Braking System), but it lacks ABS. The Raider’s front braking is smooth and adequate at city speeds. However, TVS is planning to introduce a new variant with ABS and a rear disc brake soon.
Features
Both bikes feature a TFT digital console with features like smartphone connectivity, call and music control, and turn-by-turn navigation. The Honda CB125 Hornet’s display is simple and clean, while the TVS Raider 125’s console is sportier and more colorful. Both also feature voice assist, making them quite advanced in this segment.
