Triumph Scrambler 400X: An adventure bike with a strong design and powerful performance

Engine

Talking about the engine, this bike has a 398.15cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled BS6 engine. This engine generates 39.5bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. It has a 6-speed gearbox and also has the facility of assist and slipper clutch, which makes the riding even smoother.

Design

If we talk about the design, then the Triumph Scrambler 400X has been specially designed keeping in mind adventure and off-roading. It has features like headlight protector grill, radiator guard and knuckle guard. Strong brace on the handlebar and comfortable split-style seats make it suitable for long rides.

Suspension and wheel setup

If we tell you the details of the suspension and wheel setup, then this bike has a 43mm upside-down front fork, which provides 150mm travel. Preload adjustable monoshock is provided on the rear side. The Scrambler 400X gets a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, which are fitted with dual-purpose block-pattern tires. These tires give reliable grip in both on-road and off-road riding.

Braking and Safety Features

Talking about braking and safety features, the bike has a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc brake. Dual-channel ABS comes standard in it, and the special thing is that the rear ABS can also be turned off, so that you can enjoy sliding during off-roading.

If we tell you the details of features and technology, then the Triumph Scrambler 400X does not disappoint in terms of features as well. It has ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control system, LED lighting and semi-digital instrument cluster. Apart from this, standard Type-C charging port is also available in it.

Price and Rivals

Now talking about the price and rivals, the ex-showroom price of Triumph Scrambler 400X starts at ₹ 2,67,889. However, its prices will increase by about 6% (around ₹ 18,000) from September 22 as GST 2.0 is going to be implemented. Its rivals are the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the Yezdi Scrambler.
