It often happens that you feel like making chutney, and then you realise that there is no tamarind in the house. However, there is no need to worry, as we will show you how to make a restaurant-style chutney with amchur (mango powder). This chutney is not only delicious but is also made quickly. So let’s know its easy recipe without delay.
Ingredients required to make chutney:
Jaggery – 2 big pieces (or as per your choice)
Mango powder – 50 grams
Water
Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Black salt – 1/2 teaspoon
Plain salt – as per taste
Roasted cumin powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Garam masala – 1/2 teaspoon
Sonth powder (ginger powder) – 1 teaspoon
Magaj seeds (melon seeds) – 2 teaspoons
Easy method to make chutney:
First, take mango powder in a bowl and add some water to it to make a thin solution. Please make sure that there are no lumps in it. The solution should be so thin that it can easily drip from the spoon.
Now break the jaggery into small pieces. By doing this, it will melt quickly.
Put jaggery and some water in a pan and heat it on a low flame, allowing it to melt completely.
When the jaggery has melted completely, add the dry mango powder and continue stirring until the mixture becomes uniform.
Now, let this mixture cook on a low flame. Add plain salt, black salt and roasted cumin powder to it.
After this, add red chilli powder, dry ginger powder and garam masala and mix well.
Finally, add the Magaj seeds and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
That’s it, your delicious and spicy dry mango chutney is ready! Store it in an airtight container in the fridge. It will not spoil for many days.
Now, whenever you feel like eating samosas, chaat or bhalle, then definitely enjoy this chutney. You will find its taste to be no less than tamarind chutney. So this time do not panic when the tamarind is finished, make dry mango chutney and get praises!
