Online Gaming Bill: The central government has introduced the Online Gaming Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha. As soon as it is passed, all online gaming apps will be banned in India. After this, the dream of becoming a millionaire by playing online games or the risk of losing money will be eliminated.
Amidst the uproar in India, Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav introduced this bill in the House on Wednesday. Given the uproar of the opposition, the proceedings of the lower house, chaired by PC Moha, were also adjourned till 2 pm. On Tuesday, the cabinet had allegedly approved this bill. What is special about the online gaming bill?
In the bill introduced by the central government in the Lok Sabha, it has been said to impose a complete ban is imposed on online games played using money. The government thinks that due to these games, children and youth get addicted to them. Apart from this, a large number of people have to suffer financial loss. People even commit suicide in a state of poverty.

According to the draft presented in the Lok Sabha, all the conditions have been mentioned in the bill. There is a provision of three years imprisonment or a fine of up to Rs 1 crore for any person providing online money gaming services in violation of the law. Meaning both actions can also be taken.
If someone publishes an advertisement for online gamingtheyhe can be jailed for two years or fined up to Rs 50 lakh. Along with this, banks and financial institutions providing transaction facilities for money games will also be responsible for three years imprisonment or a fine of Rs 1 crore. Anyway, this bill will consider the players of online money games as victims and not criminals.
How will money games be decided?
For information, let us tell you that in the proposed law, there is a talk of establishing a statutory regulatory authority. This authority will have the power to determine whether a game is valid as an online money game or not. Along with this, all the platforms will need to register and follow the rules set by the authority.
