Renault Kiger: Compact SUVs have emerged as the preferred choice among most Indian consumers due to their packaging of style, features, and practicality. Automobile manufacturers are now gearing up with new models and facelifts in order to lure customers. Due to increasing demand in this space, four interesting compact SUVs are set to enter showrooms in the near future.
Renault Kiger Facelift
Renault has now made it official that the facelifted Kiger will arrive on August 24. This will be the mid-cycle facelift for the compact SUV. The car will receive a number of cosmetic enhancements, such as a new bumper, reworked headlamps, revised tail lamps, and cool alloy wheels. Renault is also likely to introduce additional features within the cabin and make some subtle layout tweaks. The Kiger will retain the same engine choices, such as the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.0-litre turbo petrol, coupled with both manual and automatic transmission.
New-Gen Hyundai Venue
Hyundai is launching the second-generation Venue on October 24. Internally referred to as QU2i, the new Venue will have a boxy look based on the larger Creta. The cabin will be totally revamped with high-end features like a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, a larger infotainment system, and Level 2 ADAS for improved safety. Powertrain choices will be the usual 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engines. With these new things, the Venue will be one of the most feature-loaded compact SUVs in its segment.
Tata Punch Facelift
The Tata Punch, at present the brand’s biggest seller, will receive a facelift soon. The new generation model is expected to arrive by the end of 2025. Drawing inspiration from the Punch EV styling, the facelift will introduce new bumpers and alloy wheels, while the inside will receive a new dashboard, new steering wheel, bigger 10.25-inch infotainment system, and a totally digital instrument cluster. Engine choices will be the same, with the well-known 1.2-litre petrol engine being retained, as well as the CNG model for those interested in lower running expenses.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
Mahindra is gearing up to introduce the XUV 3XO EV towards the end of this year. It will compete head-on with the Tata Nexon EV and soon-to-be-launched Kia Syros EV. This electric SUV will be taking over from the XUV400 EV in Mahindra’s offerings. It is likely to take design cues from the production XUV 3XO but in addition, will have EV-specific styling features. Battery packs will be similar to the XUV400 EV with 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh options, which provide an estimated range of around 400 km on a single charge. This launch will add further muscle to Mahindra’s electric SUV lineup in India.
