Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the Government of India has introduced several important new features on the PM-Kisan Portal. New guidelines have been issued to improve convenience, transparency, and efficiency for the beneficiaries.
Farmer ID Mandatory for Registration
The self-registration process in the PM Kisan Yojana has been strengthened. Now, the farmer ID is mandatory for applying.
New Information in the Registration Form
The registration form now includes an option for marital status. Beneficiaries will need to provide details about their spouse or parents, depending on the situation. Once the farmer uploads land-related information and Jamabandi documents, the application will be forwarded for approval at the tehsil or district level.
Login System Made More Secure
The portal’s login system has been made more secure. Now, you can log in only with an OTP sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar. The OTP will be valid for 90 seconds. For added security, only one login will be allowed at a time.
Option to Change State
The facility to change the state has now been activated on the portal. If a farmer has incorrectly mentioned the state during registration, they can now make the change through the ‘State Change Request’ under the Farmer Corner. This request will be verified at the tehsil and district levels before being sent to the Government of India.
Farmers Who Left the Scheme Can Reapply
Farmers who left the scheme can now reapply through the ‘Surrender Revocation Request’. This request will be sent to the Government of India for approval after verification. If the request is rejected at any level, the application will be permanently cancelled.
Recovery Options for Ineligible Beneficiaries
There are now both online and offline options available for recovering amounts from ineligible beneficiaries. Farmers can view the details of instalments received through their registration or Aadhaar number and can repay the amount via net banking, cards, or UPI. For offline recovery, farmers can deposit the amount via cheque or DD and submit the receipt to the Tehsil or District office.
