EPFO Update: The central government may soon open a treasure trove for PF (Provident Fund) employees. This is expected to significantly benefit employees. The Modi government may soon announce the interest rate for the financial years 2025 and 2026.
This time, the government may announce an interest rate of 8.75 per cent, which will result in a substantial amount being credited to accounts. The interest rates may be finalised by the first week of the new financial year, i.e., by the 7th of the month.

When will the money be credited to the account?
If the Modi government announces the 8.75 per cent interest rate in the first week of April, the money can be transferred to the accounts by the end of June. In the last financial year, the government approved an 8.25 per cent interest rate for PF employees. This time, the rate will be 0.5 per cent higher. This money can be credited to the accounts by the last week of June.

How much money can be credited to the account?
The money will be transferred to the account by EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation). If an employee has Rs 6 lakh in their PF account, they can receive approximately Rs 52,000 at an 8. er cent interest rate. Similarly, if an employee has Rs 5 lakh in their PF account, they can expect to receive approximately Rs 43,000.
This amount will prove to be a significant boost. This decision may be taken at the meeting of the Central Board of Trustees of EPFO, which could prove to be a great boon for employees.
How to check PF balance?
PF employees can check their PF balance by following simple steps. First, they need to call 9966044425 from their registered mobile number. After two rings, the call will be disconnected. The balance information will then be sent via SMS to the same number. Check your balance via. SMS

You can also check your balance by downloading the Umang app. EPF members need to go to the EPFO section and click on ‘View Passbook’ under ‘Employee Centric Services’. This will completely resolve any uncertainty for PF members.
