New initiatives have been introduced to ensure a pleasant and convenient experience for the pilgrims during the celebrations. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Railways are collaborating to provide special services for travelers, focusing on convenience, safety, and overall facilities.
Toll Plaza Relief and Special Services
For the duration of Maha Kumbh 2025, toll fees will be waived on routes leading to Prayagraj.
Toll Tax Waiver for 45 Days: Devotees in light private and commercial vehicles will enjoy toll-free travel on seven major highways from Kanpur to Prayagraj.
Relief at Toll Plazas: This exemption will apply at tolls including Kokhraj, Andhiari, Umapur, Mungeri, Ganne, Handia, and Mau Aima.
Complimentary Refreshments: Passengers can look forward to free tea, snacks, and water at these toll plazas.
Enhanced Highway Amenities
Accommodation and Parking Information: Devotees will receive information about lodging and parking options in Prayagraj at the toll plazas.
To prevent traffic congestion, additional lanes are being constructed on the highways to facilitate smooth vehicle movement.
Special Train Services by Railways
The Railways are also launching special train services for Maha Kumbh attendees.
Special Train for Large Gatherings: If over 500 devotees assemble at Kanpur Central, a special train will be dispatched promptly.
74 Special Trains: A total of 74 special trains will operate from various routes to transport passengers to Prayagraj.
100 Rakes Reserved: 100 rakes will be reserved specifically for the Prayagraj-Aligarh route.
Ring Rail Service: A ring rail service will be available if necessary.
Guide and Helpline Services at Toll Plazas
At the toll plazas in Fatehpur and Kaushambi, passengers will receive assistance regarding accommodation and parking in Prayagraj, along with other helpful information.
